It's not that the house isn't nice, it is. It's beautiful. Nice bedrooms, great bathrooms, great kitchen... it has a small pool, it has woods behind it which are part of the 'green acres' and will never be built upon. And -- what's neat -- is that these are the same woods I played in when I was growing up. So... from the potentially new house, you go down the street a bit, into the empty lot, up the mountain, wind through the dirt trails in the woods (if you know them ;-) down the other side of the mountain, hop the creek and you're in my old neighborhood. I spent hours upon hours back there, starting from 6th grade all the way through high school. It's where I walked the dog, it's were my friends road their dirt bikes and Greg and I wiped out on his bike trying to hop another part of the creek in snow. Lots of good memories.

But I'm still totally stressed. I have to pack. I have to get this house ready to show. I have a small child to take care of in the middle of all this.

We're going to be broke.

Beautiful house. We're going to be there forever. But I'm not going to sleep well tonight, I don't think. Stage fright isn't this bad.... or I guess it can be if you're walking out alone on stage and you're the only one people are going to be paying attention to.

It's wonderful. It's terrifying.

Having a baby didn't freak me out this much.

So... I guess, wish us luck?

Congratulations and condolences. I TOTALLY get what you're going through, and I'll be the first to say yep, hard, but SO worth it.

It'll be worth it, but they want to close and be done w/in 60 days. Which initially sounded like a lot until I realized that puts us right at the end of March and I've got a wedding and ACUS right there. Which means we need to be done 46 days....

My Ghad. It's HUGE.
*burns all hot and jealous for a few moments*

It's PERFECT.
It will be so worth all the pain.

Thanks. :-)

Yeah, it is a little big (which matters to me since I'm the one doing most of the cleaning) and the front entry is a little imposing (the window above the door opens out into the foyer) which I specifically didn't want because I think it's ... I dunno, unfriendly? It's certainly not cozy. But when everything else is so great, I can't whine about that.

That 2-story foyer is de-rigor for housing in our age. Likely to be impossible to find one of that scale without that foyer built in the last decade or so...
